Neighborhoods built for real life.

Investments that pay off for Denver.

Safe streets. Real support.

I’m Leora Joseph. As your next member of Denver City Council in District 5, I’ll deliver on these priorities.

About Leora

Leora Joseph has spent 25 years fighting for the most vulnerable. She prosecuted family violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking in District Attorney's offices in Boston and Colorado, earning the Ralph L. Martin Prosecutor of the Year Award in 2008. Today, as Deputy Executive Director at the Colorado Department of Human Services, she oversees Colorado's two state Mental Health Hospitals, 16 Mental Health Transitional Living Homes, and the Forensic Services Division, managing a staff of 1,500 and a budget exceeding $300 million to serve Coloradans with the most acute behavioral health needs, many caught up in the criminal justice system. Named Colorado Woman Lawyer of the Year in 2016, she has lectured at the University of Colorado Denver and Harvard Law School.

At the core of everything Leora does is her faith and commitment to Tikkun Olam, the principle of repairing the world. That obligation drives her work in government and her life at home in District 5, where she lives with her husband Mike, a physician. Together, they are most proud of their three grown children.
